The Queen is the prequel to The One (The first book of The Selection series). It takes place long before events of that novel. The story told from the point of view of Amberly. One day that girl became powerful queen and Prince Maxon’s mother.

If you try to read this novel, you will discover a new Selection story and will have information about have met Prince Maxon’s father and mother. This story is short but very touching. After finishing the novella you will find that the Clarkson is a very complicated person. If hate him as a King during the main titles of The Selection series,you may like him as a young prince. In The Queen, you will know him from his bright side. Because he is not so cruel there. And he is not coldhearted either. He is very nice with his future wife. He loves Amberly with all his heart.

The author did not make prince Clarkson’s and future queen relationship absolutely similar to prince Maxon’s and America Singers. As you can noticed America Singers main concern for being queen complicated her true feelings for the prince. But the Amberly has a great confidence in all her capabilities. She is really preparing to take a role.
