This summer I’m road tripping around Western Sweden in a Volvo, exploring the area’s colorful culture, landscapes, and adventure activities.
My Sweden adventure starts the first week of July in the city of Gothenburg, home of Volvo and the country’s 2nd largest city. There I’ll join one of my readers Katie (she also blogs) who won my giveaway last month.
Together we’ll pick up a shiny new Volvo from the factory and spend the next week driving it around Western Sweden, stopping in different locations to partake in various adventures along the way.
Western Sweden is known for it’s beautiful scenery and plenty of outdoor activities to keep even the most adventurous traveler busy. I’m also excited to try local Swedish food and explore the country on our road trip!
Western Sweden
What will we be doing in Sweden? There are some fun outdoor adventures planned! Things like hiking granite rock formations at the fishing village of Smögen, sea kayaking around Bohuslän, mountain biking through the wild forests of Dalsland, and swimming the island archipelago region of Vrångöand.
Plus camping in a traditional tipi tent and hanging out with moose! Mooses? You know what I mean. Those big funny animals with huge antlers… Sweden has a lot of them.
Personally, I can’t wait to devour Western Sweden’s famous lobster, harvested from around the many local fishing villages. It should be a wonderful journey, and an interesting first experience in Scandinavia as I’ve never visited before.
I’m especially looking forward to sea kayaking along the rugged Swedish coastline. Kayaking is one of my favorite outdoor sports…
