2. Mount Wuyi
Mount Wuyi is another beautiful mountain in China that is located in Fujian. This mountain is said to be a major landmark in the southeast China and is also a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Reaching this place takes about two hours, yet once you arrive on the site, you will be in awe at the serene views of the smooth mountain peaks as well as the clear water in the nearby Nine Bend River.

3. Echoing Sand Mountain and Crescent Lake
A first look at the beautiful image of the Echoing Sand Mountain and Crescent Lake will make you think that the photo is a mere painting. But this is in fact a real scenery found in the Gobi desert on the northwest portion of China. This is basically a series of dunes that surrounds the Crescent Lake. The Lake is named as such due to its distinct shape and according to those who have been there, echoes can be heard when the wind blows through the dunes.

4. Yangshuo
The Yangshuo in Guangxi is where you will find China’s most beautiful hills and rivers. Here, visitors can take part on a bamboo boat cruise along the rivers with the stunning views of the hills on the background. Another option is to rent a bike and pedal through the countryside to enjoy the various beautiful views.

The Great Wall is perhaps the most popular attraction in China and is often the main reason why a lot of tourists would visit the country. 6. Huangguoshu Waterfall
The Huangguoshu Waterfall in Guizhou is a majestic waterfall and is considered to be the highest waterfall all over Asia. It plunges through 77.8 meters deep and is just one of the various waterfalls all over the world that can be viewed at almost every angle, from above, below, left, right or back. But the best time to view the waterfall is from June to August because this is the time that the water will reach its maximum flow of 700 cubic meters per second.

7. Guanyin Statue
In Nanshan, China’s southernmost region, you will find the world’s largest Guanyin Statue, built beyond the beaches of Sanya. This is a three sided statue facing mainland China, Taiwan and the rest of the South China Sea. This means that it not only blesses China, but all over the world as well. The statue is 108 meters tall and was enshrined in 2005.

8. Chengde Mountain Resort and Rehe Palace
The Rehe Palace in the Chengde Mountain Resort is another UNESCO World Heritage Site that used to be a summer palace owned by the emperors of the Qing Dynasty. The palace is surrounded with delicate gardens, lush grasslands, as well as marvelous mountain valleys.

9. Saint Sophia Cathedral, Harbin
The Saint Sophia Cathedral in Harbin is considered as the biggest Orthodox Church found in East and Southeast Asia. Harbin is actually China’s most Russian accented city and visiting this place is like being in Russia. The church is 54 meters tall and was built in the early 20th century as a symbol for the local Orthodox community right after the Russian – Japanese war ceased.

11. One Incense Pillar, Enshi Canyon
The One Incense Pillar in Hubei, China is a karst pillar that stands in between the peaks and cliffs of the Enshi Canyon, China’s version of the Grand Canyon. The pillar is called as such due to its similarity to the shape of an incense stick. It is about 150 meters tall and is only four meters wide, yet it survived various earthquakes and is still looking so incredible.

12. Fenghuang
The Fenghuang is an ancient town famous for its beautiful stilted houses, said to be the dream lodgings of lovers of Chinese art and literature. Each year, thousands of backpackers from all over the world would flock to this lovely town just to experience its rich culture. There are about 200 residential buildings found here, with 20 streets as well as 10 winding alleys and all of these dated back to the Ming Dynasty.

13. Brahmā Palace
The Brahmā Palace is a beautiful palace situated right at the foot of the Little Lingshan Mountain near the Taihu Lake in Jiangsu. This structure is a Buddhist palace that was built for the Second World Buddhism Forum in the year 2009. This place is also considered a Buddhist theme park that is filled with luxury and glamor as evident on its surfaces.

14. Benxi Water Cave
The Benxi Water Cave is a majestic cave found in Liaoning, China. The cave was formed more than five million years ago and is bursting with color. It features a dramatic array of stalactites and stalagmites that are enclosed with the vibrant colors of yellow, red and green. It is said to contain the world’s longest underground river which is about 6 kilometers long.

15. Qinghai Lake
The Qinghai Lake is known for its magnificent views especially during the months of June and July. The lake is said to be the largest inland saltwater lake in the country, sitting at 3,205 meters above sea level. Most tourists who come here would take part on a cycling tour that is often held during summer.

16. Xi’an City Wall
Aside from the world famous Great Wall, the Xi’an City Wall is another popular fortification constructed about 2,000 years ago which also represents the power as well as the wisdom of the Middle Kingdom during the ancient times. This wall was constructed during the Ming Dynasty and is about 13.7 kilometers long with a height of 12 meters.

17. Hukou Waterfall
The Hukou Waterfall is said to be the largest waterfall in the Yellow River. It is known all over the country for its image used to grace the RMB 50 note. The waterfall is about 20 meters high and 30 meters wide and can be found in the border of the provinces of Shaanxi and Shanxi.

18. Hailuogou Glacier National Park
The Hailuogou Park is also known as the Conch Gully and can be found in the Eastern foot of the Gonggar Mountain in the province of Sichuan. Legend has it that the gully used to be a wasteland but when a Tibetan monk played his conch there, it attracted several animals that were enchanted with the place and eventually decided to live there. In order to memorialize the monk and his conch, the gully is also being called the “Conch Gully”.
