This exotic chicken burger is everything at once: sweet, hot, sour, and salty—very Southeast Asian. The secret ingredient to this burger ’s incredible taste? Peanut butter! You can barely taste it, but that’s what unifies all the flavors. Serve with the peanut sauce for extra peanut punch.
MAKES 4 BURGERS
Ingredients
2 tablespoons chunky or smooth peanut butter
2 teaspoons sugar
2 teaspoons Tabasco sauce
¼ cup chicken broth
1 pound ground chicken
1 tablespoon minced garlic
½ cup chopped fresh cilantro leaves
¼ cup chopped fresh mint leaves
½ teaspoon salt
Directions
1. Mix the peanut butter, sugar, Tabasco, and chicken broth together in a small bowl until well blended. Set aside.
2. In a large mixing bowl, mix together the ground chicken, garlic, cilantro, mint, and salt, using your hands. Add the peanut butter mixture and mix until combined. Form into 4 patties, each 1 inch thick.
3. Lightly oil the grill or a skillet over medium-high heat and cook the burgers to the desired degree of doneness, at least medium, about 4 minutes per side.
SERVE IT UP on toasted sesame seed buns or wrapped in warm flour tortillas

Peanut Sauce
For an Asian pasta treat, coat cooked noodles with this sauce and serve hot or cold.
MAKES ½ CUP
¼ cup chunky peanut butter
¼ cup chicken broth
2 teaspoons sugar
1 teaspoon red pepper flakes
1 teaspoon salt
Combine all the ingredients in a small bowl until well mixed and smooth.
Spicy Cucumber Salad
MAKES ABOUT 1½ CUPS
⅓ cup seasoned rice vinegar
1 tablespoon sugar
1 large cucumber, peeled, seeded, and cut into ¼-inch dice
½ teaspoon red pepper flakes
¼ teaspoon salt
1. In a medium-size mixing bowl, stir together the vinegar and sugar until the sugar dissolves. Add the cucumber, pepper flakes, and salt and stir to coat.
2. Let sit for at least 30 minutes before serving. Serve at room temperature
