“Clash Of Clans'” Town Hall 11 update has spawned outrage in the mobile game community for its gameplay tweaks. The situation has become so disastrous for the Finnish developers at Supercell that it’s garnered the attention of the country’s most noteworthy news outlets.
The lead comes to Design Trend via Iltalehti.fi of Finland. The website is listed as the nation’s largest news resource. Its writers have clearly noticed that the game makers in their backyard are in hot water with some dedicated fans.
As detailed by us last week, the article notes that the Town Hall 11 personal break timer is among the recently released update’s most maligned features. According to the source, the change makes the game’s most active players feel punished for their enthusiasm. Our take on the matter offers a comprehensive look at the many areas of the game said timer impacts. In few words, the three-hour ceiling time can be accrued by too many factors, and it’s hard to manage due to unpredictable notification messages. Even those that long on to “Clash Of Clans” quickly throughout the day are sometimes barred when important circumstances arise.
In addition to that, the report also brings up changes to resource farming as well. Supercell’s sneak peeks from November revealed that shields would no longer be rewarded when town halls are destroyed. This old policy led to strategies that involved sacrificing town halls for the sake of protection and additional resource accruing time.
These days, Supercell has repositioned the town hall as an epicenter for large collections of loot. Instead of getting a shield for destroying one, they’re granted on the basis of destroying a percentage of an opposing clan’s settlement. This makes earning shields more difficult, and that drives up the personal break timer.
Considering our prior discussion on the topic linked above, this proves that the distaste for the Town Hall 11 update has become a global problem.
Such is evident by “Clash Of Clans'” growing number of negative reviews on Apple’s App Store and Google Play. On the latter storefront, the two most recent reviews state “new update sucks” and that the patch makes upgrading troops very difficult.
A lack of communication from Supercell has proven to be irritating to the game’s hardcore community too. Some players have gone as far as to suggest a strike on purchasing gems. Others have demanded a refund for the cash they’ve put into the free-to-play title.
Such outrage likely isn’t appreciated by Supercell, especially when it comes from the studio’s home country. It remains to be seen if this Internet rage will spawn changes in a future patch.
“Clash Of Clans” is available now on iOS and Android devices.
