Only a few days following the Clash of Clans December TH11 update deployment, Supercell finds itself grappling with floods of complaints that claim the COC gameplay upgrades have rendered the game simply unplayable. The promised “quality of life changes,” was hardly noticeable no thanks to the tweaks implemented last week, reports said.
With the TH11 arrival, Supercell introduced fresh concepts and revised existing game elements that are designed to enhance and balance the COC gameplay that will appeal to both advanced and casual gamers. But the early results point to the contrary as a number of Clashers unleashed their fury via Reddit that the reconfigured Shield System, Village Guard and Personal Break have turned out as bane for a smooth-flowing gameplay.
Here are the loudest grievances so far:
Unreliable COC Shield system
In order to encourage Clashers to take on attack mode more frequently, Supercell thought it wise to rework the game Shield protocols, deciding eventually that excitement lies on the free shield getting activated only on specific circumstances. So no free protection if a targeted base would sustain less than 30% damage or if the incursion is but a fraction of the total might of an attacking clan.
The result is disastrous for many, The BitBag reported, as Clashers bemoaned that the resources they painstakingly amassed dried up quick. Players blamed the Shield revision for the seemingly endless attacks, which are hitting on their base resources.
Forced Personal Breaks
Personal Breaks are supposed to be welcome respite after hours of continuing play, which Supercell set to kick in automatically when the game detects of 3-hour non-stop session. But there seems to be a bug in the new system as Clashers pointed out that either they are logged out in just under three hours of play or get advised to get a break whey have just logged in.
Problematic Village Guard
And the bug appears to extend to the new Village Guard concept. The feature, Clashers said, seems to be plagued by some kind of malfunctions. For some, Village Guard behaves strangely as the allocated time counts against the 3-hour limit and even on pop-in and pop out activities (small chats, for instance).
As a result, gamers are forced offline at the most unexpected moment and a big letdown really.
Supercell is yet to address the issue but Touch Arcade recommends a comprehensive guide put together by the Clash of Clans developer. The sort of TH11 Manual could shed light on the most pressing concerns of Clashers for now as fixes for the bugs mentioned above should be out real soon.
