Weekly WordPress News: Central Notification Center? User Data & More.

This post on whether WordPress needs a centralized notification centre caught my eye, seems like some developers have been abusing the current system by using it to announce new features etc. I think its a great idea, constant notifications and advertising can be a real pain which intrudes on your admin experience. WPBeginner also shared their thoughts on it here.

Another post I noticed was “Should User Data From WordPress.org Belong To The Community?” While I agree that the user data should belong to the community in the spirit of WordPress, opening it up to anyone could prove to be a huge mistake and open to abuse.
