'Clash Of Clans' Update: Enjoy The Free Gems Because Supercell Has Said No To ...

Writing in a locked thread in the Announcements subforum in Supercell’s forums, staff member Anoushka wrote a post to the Clash of Clans community indicating that Supercell does not seem to have any current plan to tweak the Town Hall 11 strategy issues Clash of Clans players have been loudly complaining about.

“This change is here to stay,” Anoushka writes. “However, improving your ability to save resources should alleviate some of the challenges faced when adapting to the new ‘Town Hall inside’ system.”

Forgetting about the new and seemingly permanent “Town Hall inside” system, other Clash of Clans Town Hall 11 update tweaks that won’t be getting changed by Supercell in the nearby future include the Personal Break Timer, the Village Guard and Shields, which all received a couple revisions about two weeks ago.

In that minor patch, Supercell increased the Personal Break time limit to 4 hours, while also doubling the amount of time Clash of Clans players had before either a Village Guard or Personal Break extension would run out. The duration of the Village Guard buff was extended as well, for varying amounts that depended on the Clash of Clans player’s rank.

“[Village Guard/Personal Breaks/Shields] look solid and feel like they’re working well,” Anoushka writes. “We don’t have any plans right now to make changes here, we will focus all our attention on resource saving for the time being.”

Resource saving is the one bit of ground that Supercell is compromising on. While Anoushka did not present any concrete plans to help Clash of Clans players currently suffering under the tyranny of the new update, Anoushka did promise that Supercell was monitoring Clash of Clans players’ feedback on the issue and that, “Improving this is our highest priority right now!”

Despite the overall mutinous feeling in the Clash of Clans community, and the mildly painful rollout of the Town Hall 11 update, Supercell has been having a pretty good holiday season, all things considered.

They’ve managed to retain Christoph Waltz for their new commercial series called True Tales of Clash Achievery, are planning on releasing a major update to Boom Beach in the immediate future and have even managed to release a new Tower-Defense-meets-CCG mobile game for both Android and iOS called Clash Royale.

“We’d like to apologize for the lack of communication,” Anoushka writes. “It was never our intention to have our community feel left in the dark. We’ve been following your discussions about the TH 11 update very closely, and it’s high time we talked to you.”

To be fair to Supercell, no major update is ever really embraced by a game’s community until time has had its chance to silence the grumblers.
